Principal at Bond Architects receives official Trauma-Informed Design Practitioner status.

Credential signifies commitment to inclusive, healing spaces.

Michelle Wells, Principal and Lead Architectural Designer at Bond Architects, has become an officially credentialed Bronze-level Trauma-informed Design (TiD-B) Practitioner. This credential provides designers with the skills to “create spaces that promote safety, resilience, and healing … and protect against unintentional harm in their practice.”

This credential was awarded by the Trauma-informed Design Society, an organization promoting integration of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s principles for trauma-informed care into the built environment. Regarding her newly earned credential, Wells says:

"Empathy has always been at the center of my design approach. By going through this process with the Trauma-informed Design Society, I feel that I've grown as both a designer and leader within the firm. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the rest of the Bond team as we continue to develop safe, inclusive, and welcoming public spaces.”
