ST. LOUIS COUNTY LIBRARY FLORISSANT VALLEY

Bond Architects was awarded the Phase 2B - Part 1 projects for the St. Louis County Library (SLCL) Master Plan. These projects included renovations and additions to three branch locations – Florissant Valley, Daniel Boone and Bridgeton Trails. Florissant Valley offers patrons the first-ever Children’s Area Discovery Zone, featuring a pneumatic tube, interactive light wall and a large format touch screen where kids can play games using educational applications. Dormant space in the lower level was transformed to create this entire floor dedicated to the Discovery Zone and an expanded meeting room.

The renovated branch also features a new teen space, three private study rooms, a quiet reading room, a laptop bar, a business center with fax, copy and scanning machines, a vending area and two revamped community meeting rooms. Brightly colored stripes serve as unique and fun wayfinding elements to direct patrons to the lower level Children’s Discovery Zone.
